U.S. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS OFFICER, FORMER CANDIDATE DR. VITO IMBASCIANI ENDORSES BEN ALLEN FOR STATE SENATE


Allen Receives Endorsement from State Surgeon of the California Army National Guard

Santa Monica, CA -- Former State Senate candidate for District 26, US Army Medical Corp Colonel and physician Dr. Vito Imbasciani endorses Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board Member Ben Allen for State Senator of the 26th district. 
 
"I have dedicated my career to helping others. Whether it's treating patients at home or warriors abroad, I know the pressures of true leadership. That's why I'm supporting Ben Allen. He's been an example to residents in our district on how to lead a life working for the betterment of the community and our natural resources. Because of Ben's experience and accomplishments, I wholeheartedly endorse him to represent us in the State Senate," said Dr. Imbasciani.

"We thrive as a country when our soldiers in the Armed Forces take an interest in bettering our community here at home. Dr. Vito is just that type of leader. He is a true progressive that has worked his entire life to further a vision of a more inclusive, prosperous California. As an educator, Dr. Vito knows the value of improving our public school systems, as well as making our district safer for all of those who live, learn, and work here. I am deeply honored to have the support of a former candidate, but most of all, a hero," said Ben Allen.

Dr. Vito Imbasciani currently serves as the highest-ranking medical officer in the Army National Guard. He has served in locations such as Saudi Arabia and Germany. He is also on the boards of numerous non-profits and community organizations dedicated to improving quality and access to healthcare throughout California. He has also taught at the University of Florida and Middlebury College, prior to becoming a physician. Dr. Imbasciani holds degrees from New York State University, Cornell University, and the University of Vermont.
 
Imbasciani joins many of the former candidates for State Senate in District 26 and current elected officials endorsing Ben Allen, including former candidates Amy Howorth and Barbi Applequist; Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky; Los Angeles Councilmembers Tom Labonge and Paul Koretz; West Hollywood Mayor Pro Temp John Heilman; Westwood Neighborhood Council President Jerry Brown, and Assemblymember Richard Bloom.

Ben Allen placed first among a crowded field in the open primary for the 26th State Senate District, held on June 3, 2014.


The 26th State Senate District consists of the cities of Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, El Segundo, Avalon, Lomita, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills; the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Marina Del Rey, Playa Del Rey, Westchester, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Westwood, Westwood Village, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Little Holmby, Sunset Hills, Beverly Grove, Mar Vista, Mid City West, Miracle Mile, Larchmont Village, Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Fairfax, Carthay, Fremont Place, Hancock Park, and Windsor Square; and the unincorporated Los Angeles County communities of Marina Del Rey, San Clemente Island, Santa Catalina Island, Franklin, Centinela, and Ocean View.
