Community Literary Event: 'WeHo Reads'
Daylong Celebration 'WeHo Reads: Day of Noir'
Will Take Place on Sept. 27 at West Hollywood Library and Park
WEST HOLLYWOOD, September 3, 2014 – In celebration of September as National Literacy Month, the City of West Hollywood is launching a month-long community literary event called WeHo Reads, which will feature a free screening of a classic noir film every Saturday at 2 p.m. from September 6 to September 20. Then, on Saturday, September 27, 2014, there will be a full day of panels, music, and film from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
On Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2 p.m.the film Double Indemnity will be shown at the City of West Hollywood's City Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room (located next to Jones Coffee) at West Hollywood Library, 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
On Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2 p.m.the film The Big Sleep, which stars Lauren Bacall who recently passed away, will be shown at the City of West Hollywood's City Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room (located next to Jones Coffee) at West Hollywood Library, 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
On Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 2 p.m.the film Mildred Pierce will be shown at the West Hollywood Library Community Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
On Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., WeHo Reads: Day of Noir, will celebrate the overarching literary theme of all things noir with literary panels, book signings, readings, theatre, music, and surprises. The events will take place at West Hollywood Library and Park, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. Following the daytime events, there will be an outdoor sunset movie screening of Who Framed Roger Rabbit at 7:15 p.m.
Admission to all WeHo Reads screenings and events is free. All ages are encouraged to joinWeHo Reads: Day of Noir.
