Last Night the members of the Orange County Republican Party Central Committee gathered at the Hotel Irvine where members voted to endorse the following candidates and ballot measures:

7. Jeff Lalloway – Irvine City Council
8. Steven Choi – Irvine Mayor City Council
9. Lynn Schott – Irvine City Council
10. Tom Lindsey – Yorba Linda City Council
11. Tom Tait – Anaheim Mayor City Council
12. Dave Harrington - Aliso Viejo City Council
13. Derek Reeve – San Juan Capistrano City Council
14. Pam Patterson – San Juan Capistrano City Council
15. Robert Ming – OC Supervisor 5th District

39. Erik Peterson – Huntington Beach City Council
"Our philosophy as a County Party is that there is no such thing as a non-partisan office," said Orange County GOP Chairman Scott Baugh. "We believe that Republican principles can and should be applied at every level of government, including on our local city councils and school boards here in Orange County."
While these are the OCGOP's first endorsements, there will be many more under consideration at our September 15h Central Committee meeting. In order to be endorsed it takes a 2/3rds vote of the committee.
Before taking up last night's endorsements, the committee heard speeches from two statewide Republican nominees - Ron Nehring, candidate for Lt. Governor, and Pete Peterson, candidate for Secretary of State.
