New BLS Data: Los Angeles area prices up 2.0% from last year

The latest Consumer Price Index news release for the greater Los Angeles area is now available from BLS athttp://www.bls.gov/ro9/cpilosa.pdf.

Items of note include:

• Overall prices in the Los Angeles area increased 0.1% in July, while up 2.0% over the past 12 months

• In July, food prices rose 0.3% while energy prices fell 1.5%

• The all items less food and energy index rose 0.2 over the month, while up 1.8% over the past 12 months

• Nationally, prices also increased 2.0% over the last 12 months
